Dam Surveying

Wayne Mitchell Surveyors carry out feature and contour surveys to measure and survey land, calculating heights, volumes and catchment areas in order to select the most suitable site for the dam. We also provide dam safety monitoring.

We undertake dam surveying using state of the art computer-based measuring instruments, geographical knowledge and aerial photographs. The maps for the selected site are then used to help with the planning and design of the dam.

With this information, we prepare up-to-date and detailed maps and drawings of the sites, which are used when choosing the best location for the dam or reservoir.

The construction drawings, or "as constructed" drawings, for the selected site are then used to help with the planning and design of the dam.
